Sixty-Two Percent of ODU Student-Athletes Earned a 3.0 GPA During Fall Semester

NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion University had 62 percent of its student-athletes earn at least a 3.0 grade point average during the 2019 fall semester, while 143 student-athletes received Dean's List accolades.
 
Of Old Dominion's 462 student-athletes, 285 earned at least a 3.0 GPA and ODU had more Dean's List students than students over a 3.0 GPA. All of ODU's academic numbers across the board are up from the fall of 2018.
 
"We are extremely proud of the championship effort and commitment our student-athletes made in the classroom this semester," Dr. Ron Moses, ODU Associate AD for Student-Athlete Support Services said. "There is a culture of academic expectation and success here at Old Dominion University, and we are elated that our students are contributing strongly towards the University mission."
 
The fall semester saw ODU student-athletes achieve a combined 3.01 GPA, while 30 earned a 4.0 GPA. 
 
The newly constructed women's volleyball team led all women's programs with a 3.74 fall GPA, while the baseball team had the best male team GPA, with a 3.24.
