NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion University sophomore cornerback Kaleb Ford-Dement was named Phil Steelefirst-team All-Conference USA, while defensive end Keion White and linebacker Lawrence Garner earned second-team honors.
Ford-Dement is second in Conference USA and ninth in FBS with 13 pass breakups. He tied for the ODU lead with two interceptions and had 15 passes defended. A junior college transfer playing his third year of football, Ford-Dement added 26 tackles. He was named second-team All-C-USA by the league's head coaches.
White ranks fourth in Conference USA with 19.0 tackles for loss and tied for the ODU lead with 3.5 sacks. He finished fourth on the squad with 62 tackles. This was his first year playing defense, as he played tight end as a redshirt freshman in 2018.
Garner is second in Conference USA with 111 tackles and 9.2 tackles per game. He became the second Monarch in school history to record two consecutive 100 tackle campaigns. He added seven tackles for loss, one sack and two pass breakups.
White and Garner were named second-team All-Conference USA by the league's head coaches.
