NORFOLK, Va. –The Old Dominion wrestling team hosted its Second Annual Monarch Movement Wrestling Education Day on Monday night at Blair Middle School for all Norfolk Public Middle Schools.

"The Second Annual Monarch Movement Wrestling Education Day event was a great way for our student-athletes and staff to give back to the community," head coach Steve Martin said of the event. " We were able to interact with all the middle school coaches and athletes in the City of Norfolk and form a bond with them. This is our second year doing this event and we thought it ran well."

To start the event, each Monarch student-athlete introduced themselves and described to the middle school students what it means to be a Division I student-athlete. The remainder of the night consisted of the young athletes breaking off into several groups that were led by the ODU wrestlers, who taught their groups basic wrestling techniques.
