NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion wrestling team will compete in its first dual meet on Friday, November 15 when it hits the road to face No. 9 NC State at 7:00 p.m. The Monarchs will stay in Raleigh the weekend, as the team is set to compete in the Wolfpack Open as well on Sunday, November 17.
Sa'Derian Perry, Shannon Hanna and Alex Cramer are each coming off of championship efforts at the Journeymen Collegiate Classic this past Sunday, while Killian Cardinale knocked off the No. 8 wrestler in the country at 125 pounds on his way to a MAC Wrestler of the Week award.
A battle of All-American wrestlers highlight the dual, as No. 4 Larry Early will be facing off against No. 1 Hayden Hindlay in the 157-pound bout. Last season Early knocked off Hindlay in a 4-2 win by decision when the Wolfpack faced ODU at Chartway Arena.
At 141 pounds, there will be a battle of top-15 wrestlers, as thirteenth-ranked Perry is scheduled to battle against No. 11 Tariq Wilson.
In FloWrestling's most recent team rankings, the Monarchs are settled in the 20thspot.
