ODU Hosts Loyola (Md.) on Wednesday (7PM) on C-USA TV

NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion men's basketball team (1-1) will play host to Loyola (Md.) (1-1) on Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday's contest will stream live on C-USA TV and air across the radio dial on the ODU Sports Network, with Ted Alexander and Dave Twardzik's pregame show beginning at 6:30 p.m.

ALL-TIME SERIES:
Old Dominion is 5-4 all-time against Loyola (Md.). ODU has won three straight in this series and five of the last six contests. These two schools last met during the 1969-70 season, in a game the Monarchs claimed an 81-78 victory. These two schools first met during the 1962-63 season, in a game Loyola won 76-70. In fact, Loyola won the first three meetings between these two schools.

LAST GAME:
Four Monarchs scored in double-figures to lift the Old Dominion men's basketball team (1-1) over Saint Joseph's (1-1) by an 82-69 score on Sunday afternoon at Chartway Arena. After trailing by as many as 12 in the first half, Old Dominion ended the game on a 17-4 run and outscored SJU 48-31 in the second half. 

Xavier Green led the way for ODU, pouring in 18 points and hauling down a career-high 10 rebounds. Marquis Godwin followed with 17 points (5-8 3PT FG), to go along with seven boards. Malik Curry scored a career-high 12 points, while Jason Wade went for 10 points, seven rebounds, three assists and five steals. Aaron Carver tied his career-high of 20 rebounds to compliment eight points.

For the game, ODU held advantages for bench points (27-18), points in the paint (28-10), blocks (8-2) and rebounds (53-43).

Old Dominion's defense held the Hawks to 27.3% (9-33) shooting from the floor in the second half.

C-USA PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Earlier this week, Xavier Green was named the Conference USA Player of the Week. For the week, Green averaged 15.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.0 steal per contest.

MEET LOYOLA
Loyola was picked to finish fourth in the Patriot League, and senior guard Andrew Kostecka was named one of five players on the Preseason All-League Team. Loyola returns all but two players from last year's roster that tied for eighth in the conference and boasts the addition of a recruiting class ranked tops in the conference and 61st in all of NCAA Division I by 247Sports.

The Greyhounds have 94.6 percent of their scoring and 86.79 percent of rebounds back from a year ago.
