BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Morgan Hall’s two goals in less than a six-minute span helped lead the Old Dominion women’s soccer team (7-3-2, 1-3-0 C-USA) to its first win in league play at WKU (6-4-1, 2-2-0 C-USA) by a 3-0 score on Sunday afternoon at the WKU Soccer Complex.

“I am really, really pleased with how we played today,” explained ODU head coach Angie Hind.

“Of course we really needed the win, but I thought we were so together today both defensively and in attack and played some pretty good stuff. Our backline led by Emily Roberts and Riley Kennett were really great and I thought our midfield did such a good job providing composure and quality to our forwards, who looked a threat all game. I am happy for Morgan Hall to get an impressive double.”

Megan Watts got the Monarchs on the scoreboard first, when she scored her second goal of the season in the 40th minute, which gave ODU a 1-0 lead heading into the locker rooms at halftime. In the opening 45 minutes, Old Dominion outshot the Hilltoppers, 6-3.

Four minutes into the second half, Morgan Hall extended Old Dominion’s lead to 2-0.

Less than six minutes later it was again Hall, this time striking in the 55th minute to give ODU a 3-0 lead and ultimately victory in Bowling Green on Sunday afternoon. The two goals at WKU were Hall’s second and third of the season.

Goalkeeper Kasey Perry was credited with four saves for Old Dominion. ODU outshot Western Kentucky 14-9 for the match.

The Monarchs will return to the pitch on Friday, Oct. 11 at 7:00 p.m. ET, when ODU hosts Middle Tennessee at the ODU Soccer Complex.
