NORFOLK, Va. – Coming off of its tournament victory at the VCU Invitational, the Old Dominion men's golf team will look for a repeat performance as it travels to Akron, Ohio to compete in the Firestone Invitational at Firestone Country Club.

Rounds one and two will take place on Monday, September 30, while the third and final round occurs on Tuesday, October 1. The event will be played on Firestone Country Club’s North Course, a par-72 course that covers 7,125 yards.

Live scoring for the event will be available on GolfStat

The Monarchs finished the VCU invitational with a team score of 28-under par after posting an 11-under in the final round in Richmond, giving them their first tournament victory since the 2016-2017 season. Senior Carter Morgan won the tournament coming into the clubhouse with a 13-under to lead the charge for ODU. Senior Chris Ayers and junior Gustav Fransson each posted top-20 finishes, as Ayers finished in a tie for 11th(-5) while Fransson came in tied for 19th(-3).

Morgan will look for a repeat performance this week in Akron as he looks to lead the Monarchs to back-to-back tournament wins. He will be joined by both Ayers and Fransson, along with junior Rasmus Konradsson and senior Chandler Wilkins.

Last season, the Monarchs placed tied for eighth in the field of 17 teams. Morgan finished in the top-15, finishing with a 1-under par to put in him a tie for 12th. Host Akron came away with the win with a team score of 7-under, just edging out Furman by one stroke.
