Wilson (Dick) L. dozier lettered in football, basketball and baseball for the Norfolk Division of William and Mary from 1933-36. He was a standout football player at fullback and quarterback, while playing guard in basketball and secondbase and shortstop in baseball.

Dozier quarterbacked one of the most successful grid teams in the division's history. In1935, the team compiled a 7-1 record, losing only a one point game to East Carolina TeachersCollege. That squad registered four shutouts and outscored its opponents 156-31. The teamalso defeated the William and Mary Frosh, 7-4 that season.

An outstanding defensive player, Dozier led the 1934 basketball team to a 10-4 record,the1935 squad to an 11-6 record and the 1936 team to a 10-6 record which included a victory over the William and Mary Frosh. Dozier hit .296 for the 1935 baseball team and wrote for the student newspaper, THE HIGH HAT. Tom Scott, the athletic director and Dozier's coach at theDivision and member of the Old Dominion University Sports Hall of Fame selected Dozier as oneof his top ten athletes of that era.

Dozier went on to William and Mary to play football, following his tenure at the Division.He was killed while serving his country in World War II.
