NORFOLK, Va. –Old Dominion University football has officially announced the additions of four graduate transfers, including Chris Cunningham, Eric Kumah, Calvin Brewton and Tobias Moss, ODU head coach Bobby Wilder announced on Wednesday. Wilder also announced that Robert “Tank” Scott has joined the program.
Cunningham and Kumah join the Monarchs from Virginia Tech, while Brewton comes from Florida State and Moss joins ODU from South Alabama. Scott comes to ODU from Hampton.
“We are excited to add four graduate transfers to our roster. All four of these young men will add value to our team on and off the field,” Wilder said. “These young men were impressed by Old Dominion University, our staff and our players that helped out during the recruiting process. They had many schools to choose from during this process and they all believed our program was the best fit to finish their career and pursue their master’s degree.”
Cunningham played in 37 career games at Tech, catching 22 passes for 297 yards and seven touchdowns. Last season, he caught seven passes for 74 yards and two scores, one coming against ODU. As a freshman in 2016, he had six catches, with four going for touchdowns.
Cunningham was a 4-star recruit out of Atlantic Coast High School in Jacksonville, Florida, and was ranked the No. 45 tight end in the country by Scout.com.
Kumah finished second on the Hokies last season with 42 receptions for 559 yards and seven touchdowns. In his three years in Blacksburg, Kumah caught 70 passes for 883 yards and nine touchdowns.
A native of Forest Park, Virginia, Kumah was a 4-star recruit out of Woodbridge High School and the No. 67 ranked wide receiver in the country by ESPN.
Brewton battled injuries in his career at Florida State, playing in 20 career games. He played in the first two games of the 2018 season, including the opener against Virginia Tech, before redshirting. He played a career-best nine games in 2016 and recorded six tackles.
A product of Miami, Florida, Brewton was a 4-star recruit out of Miami Central High School and the No. 14 ranked safety in the nation.
Moss was a two-year starter at South Alabama at cornerback and safety. He recorded 43 tackles and one interception last season.
Scott played in 26 games the last three years for the Pirates at cornerback. In his three years he has accumulated 85 tackles and four interceptions. Scott played in four games and redshirted in 2018.
