FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Old Dominion women's golf team is heading into the final round of the Conference USA Championship in first place with a one stroke lead over UTSA. Senior Charlotte De Corte and freshman Jana Melichova both carded one-under 71's to lead the Monarchs on day two of the three day Championship.
On the 6,194 yard course, ODU posted a 290 team score on Tuesday, which was the lowest score on the day along with Charlotte. The Monarchs lead the field in par 5 scoring through two days with a four-under cumulative score.
Individually, De Corte is in a tie for fourth after tallying three birdies and just two bogeys. Melichova, who is in 12th, notched four birdies and three bogeys. Freshman Leah Onosato posted an even par round on Tuesday afternoon, which included three birdies and three bogeys. Onosato is in a tie for 6th after 36 holes. Senior Abigail Portyrata is in a tie for 26th after entering the clubhouse with a four-over 76. She has the third most birdies in the 60 player field. Sana Tufail shot an eight-over 80, she is also in a tie for 26th.
ODU will be paired with Charlotte and UTSA for the third straight day. Tee times will begin at 8:50 off of hole 1. Live scoring of the final round can be found on Golfstat.
