CARY, N.C. -- Following the opening day of the Stitch Intercollegiate, the Old Dominion men's golf team is in 14th place at the tournament held at MacGregor Downs Country Club in Cary, North Carolina.
Thunderstorms cut the opening day short at MacGregor Downs. The teams were able to get in the first round of the two scheduled, but severe weather moved into the area and stopped play midway through the second round.
The teams will complete round two tomorrow and the play the final round in the afternoon.
Old Dominion (+20) carded a 14-over 302 in the first round and then was 6-over in the second round before the stoppage. No. 21 Louisville (-11) leads a stacked field that features six squads ranked in the top 41 in the nation.
Individually, Gustav Fransson (+2) is tied for 32nd and Calvin Greschner (+5) is tied for 52nd in the 84-player field. Carter Morgan (+7) and Doug Rios Ceballos (+7) are both tied for 68th and Michael Minnehan (+13) is in 82nd.
