PINEHURST, N.C. -- The Old Dominion men's golf team sits in a tie for third place, 10 strokes off the lead, through the opening round at this weekend's Pinehurst Intercollegiate at Pinehurst No. 8.
Old Dominion (+11) carded an 11-over 295 and is tied with Eastern Kentucky. Davidson (+1) leads.
Chandler Wilkins (E) had a breakout performance in Friday's opening round, shooting an even-par 71, including three birdies and an eagle. Wilkins is four strokes off the lead.
Calvin Greschner (+3) also sits in the top 20 after finishing with a round of 74 and is tied for 17th. Gustav Fransson (+4) and Doug Rios Ceballos (+4) are both tied for 28th. Carter Morgan (+7; t51st) rounded out the ODU lineup.
The Monarchs tee of at 8:18 a.m. ET tomorrow for the second round.
