MANHATTAN, Kan. – Nick Pantos tossed 8.1 shutout innings and Kyle Battle drove in the winning runs with a two-run single to lift Old Dominion University baseball to a 5-0 win at Kansas State Friday night in Manhattan.
ODU has won nine-straight and is now 10-2 on the season. Kansas State fell to 5-7 on the year.
Pantos went a career-high 8.1 innings and struck out two, allowing just three hits.
Kyle Battle got the Monarchs on the board with a two-run single in the third inning for the early 2-0 lead.
The Monarchs made the score 4-0 with a two-run home run from Vinnie Pasquantino in the eighth inning.
Tommy Bell added a run in the ninth inning with a run-scoring single.
Battle and Bell had a pair of hits for the Monarchs, while Thomas Hughes had two of the three hits for Kansas State.
