FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Behind a strong final round, the Old Dominion men's golf team placed ninth at the Fort Lauderdale Intercollegiate this week at the Fort Lauderdale Country Club's North Course.
Old Dominion (+18) carded a 3-under 285 as a team on Tuesday, the second-best round of any team in the field, to climb one spot on the leaderboard.
Tournament champion and 23rd-ranked USF (-24) was the only team to shoot a better round than ODU with a 4-under 284.
Individually, Carter Morgan (E) put the finishing touches on his best performance as a Monarch, finishing with a 3-under 69 to finish in a tie for 11th.
Gustav Fransson (+5) and Calvin Greschner (+5) both finished in a tie for 26th. Fransson fired a 1-under 71 and Greschner was even par at 72 on Tuesday.
Rounding out the ODU lineup were Doug Rios Ceballos (+12; t49th) and Chandler Wilkins (+13; t52nd).
Up next, the Monarchs head straight to North Carolina for the Pinehurst Intercollegiate March 8-10.
