BATON ROUGE, La. – The Old Dominion women’s golf team posted a final round 306 to take a third place finish at the LSU Tiger Classic on Sunday afternoon. Abigail Portyrata and Jana Melichova both finished in the top-10 individually.

ODU finished ahead of #19 TCU by four strokes. The Monarchs also finished ahead of C-USA team UTSA.

"We are really pleased to come all the way out to LSU and earn a top-3 finish. I can't adequately describe how difficult the University Club golf course is. It definitely lived up to its reputation of being one of the hardest courses in the country," said head coach Mallory Hetzel. "We are proud of the heart our team showed today."

In the final round, ODU was led by Melichova and Portyrata, who posted a 74 and 75, respectively. Portyrata notched five birdies on the day and made her first top-5 finish of the year. Melichova finished the weekend with 12 birdies, the most in the field of 60.

Sana Tufail and Leah Onosato both shot a 79. Senior Charlotte De Corte finished Sunday with a six-over 78.
