FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- The Old Dominion men's golf team opens up its spring season with the Fort Lauderdale Intercollegiate this week at the Fort Lauderdale Country Club.

Action begins with 36 holes on Monday and then the final 18 on Tuesday. 

This will be the third consecutive season that the Monarchs have competed in the Fort Lauderdale Intercollegiate. ODU placed ninth last year and fourth in 2017.

Entering the spring, senior Calvin Greschner leads the team in scoring average at 70.3. Greschner turned in a pair of top-10 finishes during the fall. Virginia Wesleyan transfer Carter Morgan is second on the team in scoring average at 72.5 and Gustav Fransson is third at 73.0.

As a team during the fall, ODU placed eighth at the Firestone Invitational and then closed the fall with a fourth-place finish at the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate.

The tournament will be held at FLCC's par-72, 6861-yard North Course.
