WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- Behind six superb innings from starting pitcher Morgan Maguire, the Old Dominion baseball team completed the midweek season series sweep of William & Mary with a 4-2 victory at Plumeri Park on Tuesday evening.
Old Dominion (16-8) scored a run in each of the first three innings and that proved to be all of the run support that Maguire and company would need for the night.
Maguire had his best outing of the season, allowing just one run on three hits in six innings, while walking none and striking out five.
Connor Muly, who earned the save, induced a key inning-ending 643 double play in the eighth inning to keep it a two-run ballgame.
Offensively, Matt Burch knocked in two runs and Bryce Windham went 1-for-2 with two runs scored and an RBI.
