JOHNS ISLAND, S.C. - The Old Dominion women's golf team finished in a tie for fourth at the Briar's Creek Invitational hosted by College of Charleston. Freshman Leah Onosato collected her first top-10 finish.
"We are really please to beat some of the best teams in the country on a championship golf course," said head coach Mallory Hetzel. "Briar's Creek is a test in perfect weather but the wind made it even tougher. We handled the conditions well and battled to the end. We are excited to have a week of practice before we leave for LSU."
The Monarchs finished ahead of No. 20 Furman, No. 22 Clemson, No. 45 ECU, No. 27 Illinois and No. 50 Penn State. ODU posted a final round 297 on Tuesday.
