IRVING, Texas -- Old Dominion sophomore Ryne Moore has been named the Conference USA Pitcher of the Week after throwing a 7-inning, complete-game shutout against Charlotte, the league office announced on Monday.
Moore improved to 4-0 with a 2.10 ERA on the season after his dominant performance against the 49ers. The Pennsylvania native scattered four hits, while striking out seven and walking one in the 10-0 mercy-rule victory. It was the first shutout of his career.
Moore, ODU's Sunday starter, is 4-0 with a 0.69 ERA in his last four starts. During that stretch, he has struck out 27 and walked only three in 26.0 innings.
The weekly accolade is the first of Moore's career.
