NORFOLK, Va. -- Behind an outstanding pitching performance from Ryne Moore and a balanced offense, the Old Dominion baseball team dominated Charlotte, 10-0, in seven innings on Sunday afternoon at the Bud Metheny Complex.
The victory is the first of Conference USA play for Old Dominion (13-5, 1-2), after Charlotte (10-9, 2-1) eked out wins in the first two games of the series.
Moore (7IP, 4H, 0R, 1BB, 7K) went the full seven innings, recording the first complete-game shutout of his career. Moore improved to 4-0 with a 2.10 ERA on the season.
Offensively, the Monarchs had 11 hits. Bryce Windham (3-4, 2R, RBI) had a three-hit day and Tommy Bell (2-3, HR, 2RBI) hit his second career home run and first of 2019. Seven different Monarchs recorded a hit and eight had an RBI.
