NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion University baseball leads Charlotte 8-7 in the top of the seventh inning but the game has been suspended due to rain and will conclude tomorrow at 2 p.m. The originally scheduled Saturday game will start after the conclusion of the suspended game.
Charlotte will start the eighth inning with runners on first and second with no outs.
ODU took the lead in the bottom of the seventh on an RBI double from pinch-hitter Will Morgan to score Vinnie Pasquantino.
Charlotte scored three runs in the first inning but ODU followed with two in the bottom of the inning on two run single from Pasquantino.
The 49ers scored a run in the second and the Monarchs again followed with four runs in the second. Bryce Windham scored two on a single and two more came in on a double from Andy Garriola to give ODU a 6-4 lead.
Charlotte tacked on a run in the third and Kyle Battle drilled a homer to push the ODU lead to 7-5.
Charlotte scored a pair in the fifth to tie the score at seven before Morgan’s RBI double.
