PINEHURST, N.C. -- For the third straight year, the Old Dominion men's golf team finished in the top three at the Pinehurst Intercollegiate, placing third at this weekend's tournament at Pinehurst No. 8.
Old Dominion (+37) carded a 7-over 291 as a team on Sunday, the second-best final round of any team in the field. Davidson (+7), who had the best final round with a 287, won the team title. Radford (+36) finished second.
Individually, three Monarchs finished in the top 20, led by Calvin Greschner (+8). Greschner, who tied for 11th, and Gustav Fransson (+9), who tied for 14th, both fired even-par 71s on Sunday, the best rounds of any Monarch. Chandler Wilkins (+10) also finished in the top 20, tying for 18th, the best finish of his career.
Rounding out the ODU lineup were Doug Rios Ceballos (+14; t32nd) and Carter Morgan (+19; t55th).
Davidson's Clayton Tribus (-3) won the individual title.
Up next, ODU heads to the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate in Williamsburg March 24-26.
