Manhattan, Kan. - Old Dominion scored four runs in the first inning to jump on Kansas State and never look back on the way to an 8-2 win in Manhattan on Sunday.
ODU wins its third-straight series and second-straight over a power-five opponent to improve to 11-3 on the year, while K-State drops to 6-8.
Vinnie Pasqualino got the Monarchs on the board in the first inning with a two-run single. Tommy Bell followed with an RBI hit by pitch and Michael Marrale drove in a run with a single to put four runs in the first for the Monarchs.
That was all Ryne Moore needed as he earned the win, going seven innings allowed four hits and two runs,. while striking out six.
After K-State scored two runs in the fifth, ODU scored four more in the sixth. Byrce Windham drove in a run on a fielder's choice and was followed by a two-run single from Andy Gariolla. Gariolla and Matt Schwarz executed a double-steal to score Schwarz for the eighth run of the game.
Aaron Holiday cruised through the final two innings on the mound for ODU, striking out three and allowing one hit.
