ORLANDO, Fla. – The Old Dominion women’s golf team finished in fourth place at the UCF Challenge after a third round seven-under 281. As a team, the Monarchs went 11-under on the par 72, 6349 yard course through the three day tournament. ODU finished ahead of seven top-50 ranked squads in their spring opening tournament.  

"It's really impressive to start the new year beating so many ranked teams," said head coach Mallory Hetzel. "Even more impressive is all the low scores we shot to do it. I'm happy for our team, it's always fun to play well."

Senior Charlotte De Corte finished in a tie for fifth and had the best ODU individual finish at the tournament. De Corte carded a two-under 70 to finish seven-under overall. Making a final round push, Jana Melichova posted a 68 to finish in a tie for 12th. Melichova posted the second-best round of the day in the 98 player field. Sana Tufail posted her best round of the week with a 69, her third round in the 60's this year. Noemie Sudron posted a two-over 74 on Tuesday afternoon, while Abigail Portyata carded a three-over 75.
