IRVING, Texas - Old Dominion University junior swimmer Jacklyn VandePoel was named the Conference USA Swimmer of the Week, C-USA announced on Wednesday.
Last weekend at George Mason, VandePoel gave the Monarchs their first win of the day with a triumph in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:03.69. She added her second win of the day, this one in the 500 freestyle in a time of 5:05.23.
The swimmer of the week honor is the first of her career. VandePoel and the women's squad compete in the Conference USA Championship beginning Feb. 27 at the University of Georgia.
