RENO, Nev. – The Old Dominion wrestling team is set to travel to Nevada to compete in the 2018 Reno Tournament of Champions. The tournament will be streamed on Flowrestling.
The Monarchs are coming off a road win at Northwestern on Dec. 7, while the Wildcats were nationally ranked. Larry Early suffered his first setback of the season off a loss to #2 Ryan Deakin. In the win at Northwestern, Michael McGee, Sa’Derian Perry, Kenan Carter, Shane Jones, Seldon Wright, Antonio Agee and Tim Young came out with wins for the Monarchs.
This week in the national rankings, McGee is ranked as high as No. 17 at 125 pounds. Perry checks in at No. 13 according to Intermat. His highest rank this season, 157-pound Early checks in at No. 3 by Intermat. Wright is featured by Intermat and Trackwrestling at No. 20 and No. 15, respectively.
Division I powers Oklahoma State, Wyoming, and Arizona State will be competing at the event, along with several NAIA powers, Grand View and Embry-Riddle.
