CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Old Dominion (10-4-2, 6-2-0 C-USA) men’s soccer team is set to play New Mexico (4-11-1, 2-5-1 C-USA) in the quarterfinal of the C-USA Championship on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. ODU is the No. 2 seed and New Mexico is the No. 7 seed.
ODU is coming off a regular season loss to No. 3 Kentucky. Prior to that, ODU did not lose a game in the month of October, posting a 5-0-1 record. Max Wilschrey leads the team in points after tallying 11 goals and six assists this season. Defensively, Mertcan Akar has 40 saves this season in goal.
On Monday, seniors Niko Klosterhalfen and Ryan McLaughlin were named to the C-USA All-Academic Team.
If ODU wins their first round match, they will face the winner of the Charlotte/UAB game in the C-USA semifinal on Friday at 7 p.m. See attached bracket.

The Lobos are coming off a 1-0 loss at No. 19 Charlotte. After posting a 2-5-1 league record, New Mexico is the No. 7 seed. Offensively, Nick Taylor has 13 points this season. Trailing right behind Taylor is Omar Grey with 12 points.
