LYNCHBURG, Va. - Old Dominion University men's swimming leads Mount St. Mary's and Gardner-Webb after the first day of the All-American Celebration meet at Liberty, while the women's squad leads Gardner-Webb.
Gus Maxwell earned a second place finish in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:42.44.
Freshman Jacqueline Tinneny earned ODU's first win of the night in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:00.88.
Noah Wilkins earned the men's squads second, second place spot of the night, with a second place finish in the 100 backstroke with a time of 52.74.
Wilkins added to his second place with a win in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:43.22.
Nick Wukovits and Peter Durisin finished second and third in the 100 breaststroke, with times of 57.41 and 57.43, respectively.
Filip Svedberg continued his solid start to the season, winning the 100 butterfly in 49.21.
The meet will start tomorrow at 11 a.m.
