NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion wrestling team is set to host the Blue/Silver Intrasquad on Thursday, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. held in the Jim Jarrett Athletic Administration Building Gymnasium. The event will be streamed on Facebook Live at ODU Wrestling.
On Saturday, Oct. 20, the Monarchs held preliminary wrestle offs in their wrestling room.
ODU returns four NCAA Qualifiers in Michael McGee, Sa’Derian Perry, Larry Early and Seldon Wright. Last season, McGee was crowned the 125 pound MAC Champion and went on to be named MAC Freshman of the Year after a stellar true freshman campaign. As a team, the Monarchs finished the 2017-18 season with a 9-9 dual record and 5-2 record in the MAC.
Along with the success on the mat from the 2017-2018 squad, the wrestling Monarchs succeeded in the classroom with McGee and Kenan Carter earning spots on the NWCA All-Academic Team. Carter and Luke Drugac were also named to the All-MAC Academic Team.
