NORFOLK, Va. -- The Old Dominion men's golf team opens the 2018-19 season with the Golfweek Program Challenge Sept. 9-11 at True Blue Golf Course in Pawley's Island, South Carolina.
Live scoring for the tournament is available on GolfStat.
The Golfweek Program Challenge is an event that features both the men’s and women’s teams, which is tallied up as one score to find a team champion. There is also a separate championship for the men and women.
Head coach Murray Rudisill's lineup features both veterans and newcomers. Sophomore Gustav Fransson, who was a Conference USA All-Freshman Team selection last year, along with seniors Michael Bakker and Calvin Greschner headline the lineup.
Transfers Chris Ayers, from Midland Junior College in Texas, and Carter Morgan, from Virginia Wesleyan, are new additions to the lineup.
The Monarchs were scheduled to compete in this same tournament a year ago, but it was canceled due to Hurricane Irma. In 2015, ODU placed fourth at the event.
