NORFOLK, Va. – After a two hour rain delay, the Old Dominion women’s soccer team (3-5-2, 0-2-0 C-USA) fell to Charlotte by a 3-0 score on Monday night at the ODU Soccer Complex.
The game remained tied after the opening 45 minutes, as ODU held advantages for shots (6-2) and corners (3-1).
In the 68th minute, Julia Grainda scored off a pass from Sophie Sipprell to give the 49ers a 1-0 lead.
Four minutes later, Megan Green scored her team-leading sixth goal of the season to give Charlotte a 2-0 advantage.
Sophie Sipprell sealed the deal on Charlotte’s 3-0 victory in the 86th minute.
For the match, the Monarchs outshot the 49ers 14-10 and took seven of the match’s nine corners.
Old Dominion will remain at home for its next two contests against Marshall on Friday, Sept. 28 at 7:00 p.m., before hosting Western Kentucky on Sunday, Sept. 30 at 1:00 p.m.
