DALLAS, TEXAS – Old Dominion University senior running back Jeremy Cox was named to the Doak Walker Award Watch List, the PwC SMU Athletic Forum announced on Wednesday. The award is given to the best running back in the country.
Cox started all nine games he played in last season, carrying 147 times for 621 yards and four touchdowns. Cox had a breakout season in 2016, recording 119 carries for a career-high 685 yards and 14 total touchdowns.
For his career, Cox has four 100-yard rushing games, including a career-high 202 yards last season against Florida Atlantic.
A native of Hope Mills, North Carolina, Cox is second in ODU history with 1,675 career-rushing yards.
