CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Old Dominion resumes its extended road trip this weekend with a series at Marshall at Appalachian Power Park in Charleston, West Virginia.
Due to forecasted weather, the teams will play a doubleheader on Friday beginning at 10 a.m. ET. Game three is still tentatively scheduled for Sunday at 10 a.m. ET.
The Monarchs enter the weekend five games out of the eighth place in the Conference USA standings and one game behind Marshall. The top eight teams in the league qualify for the C-USA Tournament in Biloxi.
ODU is coming off of a close 7-6 loss at VMI on Wednesday. Culver Lamb (.296, 6 HR, 22 RBI) hit two home runs in the loss in Lexington and is now tied with Will Morgan (.235, 6 HR, 23 RBI) for the team lead.
Matt Schwarz (.345, 7 2B, 15 RBI) leads the team in avearge, while Erik Stock (.336, 2 HR, 17 RBI) ranks fifth in the conference with a .388 average in league play.
On the mound, Morgan Maguire (3-5, 3.42 ERA) will get the start in game one on Friday. The remaining starters for the weekend are TBA.
The Monarchs lead the all-time series against Marshall, 9-7, and took 2-of-3 against the Herd last year in Norfolk.
