RUSTON, La. -- An early barrage of offense from LA Tech carried the Bulldogs over Old Dominion, 11-3, in the weekend series opener on Thursday evening at J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park.
Brian Morley (1-4, HR, RBI) homered and Culver Lamb (2-4, 2B, RBI) also had a big day at the plate for Old Dominion (15-35, 7-20 C-USA), but LA Tech (36-18, 19-9 C-USA) scored a run in five of the first six innings, including a four-spot in the sixth, to take game one.
Morley's home run was his sixth of the season.
On the mound, starting pitcher Luke Krantz (3.1 IP, 4 H, 6 ER, 3 K) received the loss for ODU, while freshman Trey Fisher (2.2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 K) had his best relief appearance of the season.
Game two is scheduled for tomorrow at 7 p.m. ET. Hunter Gregory will get the start against LA Tech's Matt Miller.
