IRVING, Texas -- Following a standout performance at the East Carolina Intercollegiate this week, Old Dominion freshman Gustav Fransson has been named the Conference USA Men's Golfer of the Week, the conference office announced on Wednesday.
Fransson turned in the best performance of his collegiate career, tying for the 11th at the ECU Intercollegiate held at Brook Valley Country Club in Greenville, North Carolina.
The Sweden native carded an even round of 72 during the final round on Tuesday and climbed 12 spots on the individual leaderboard. The even round also helped ODU shoot 2-over as a team on Tuesday, which was the best round of any squad in the nine-team field.
The weekly honor is the first of Fransson's career.
