NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion (5-9, 2-2 ASUN) lacrosse team hosts CMU (9-5, 4-0 SoCon) on Friday, April 20 and Detroit (8-6, 3-1 SoCon) on Sunday, April 22. The Monarchs close out their regular season with a three-game home stand.
Last weekend, ODU finished their road trip with a 1-1 record as they faced Mercer and Kennesaw State. The Monarchs squeezed past Mercer with a 12-11 win after Glory Johnson secured the game-winning goal with less than two minutes to play. After the Friday win, Kennesaw State defeated ODU, 16-5.
Sophia Richie continues to lead the team with 27 goals this season. Defensively, Lauren Ey has tallied 85 saves.
About CMU
CMU is undefeated in SoCon play. The Chips and Monarchs have five mutual opponents on their schedules. CMU most recently defeated Wofford in a shortened match, 16-4.
Last Meeting vs. CMU
Last year, the Monarchs fell to CMU in an overtime match, 11-10. During that season, CMU was in the ASUN conference. ODU currently splits the all-time series with the Chips, 1-1.
About Detroit
The Titans, also in the SoCon has just one conference loss. Similar to the Chips, Detroit has five mutual opponents with the Monarchs. The Titans offensive unit is led by Kaitlyn Wandelt who currently owns 49 goals.

In their last matchup, ODU fell to Detroit 15-8. Although the loss in 2016, the Monarchs own the series mark, 3-2.
