NORFOLK, Va. -- Old Dominion begins an extended road trip with a midweek game at Virginia Tech on Wednesday at 6 p.m. ET at the newly-renovated English Field.
Old Dominion (11-23, 4-11 C-USA) is 3-4 in midweek games this season and 3-3 against schools from the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Offensively, Culver Lamb (.324, 4 HR, 17 RBI, 6-6 SB) is coming off a nice weekend at the plate, hitting .364 with two extra-base hits against UAB. Will Morgan (.227, 5 HR, 21 RBI) homered during the UAB series and now leads the team in that category.
As a team, ODU is hitting .281, which ranks 77th nationally and fourth in the conference.
On the mound, freshman lefty Jason Hartline (1-2, 5.56 ERA) will make his third career start.
Virginia Tech (15-20, 6- 12 ACC) lead the all-time series, 58-17, and have won the last three meetings. Last year, the teams met at Harbor Park, with VT pulling out an 8-4 victory.
