WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- Old Dominion fell to William & Mary, 4-3, in midweek action on Tuesday evening at Plumeri Park.
After Old Dominion (10-21) starter Luke Krantz (3.1 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 2 K), in his first career start, made quick work of the Tribe through the first three innings, William & Mary (14-20) finally got to the freshman lefty in the fourth and took the early lead with two runs.
The Tribe carried that 2-0 lead into sixth, but Cory Alexander II's bases-loaded hit by pitch cut the lead to one and then Kyle Battle drove a 2-RBI single to center to give ODU a 3-2 lead. However, W&M answered in the seventh with a pair of unearned runs to pull out the win.
Along with Alexander (1-2, RBI, SAC) and Battle (2-5, 2 RBI), Devon Adams (2-4, R) and Culver Lamb (1-3, R, SB) also had productive days at the plate.
On the mound, Isaiah Nelson (1.2 IP, 1 H, 2 R, 0 ER, 3 K) received the loss.
