FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Led by Nick Rencis' fourth-place finish, the Old Dominion men's golf team placed ninth at the Fort Lauderdale Intercollegiate this week at the Fort Lauderdale Country Club North Course.
Rencis (-1) entered the day in first place with a one-stroke lead over the field, but carded a 2-over 74 on Tuesday and ended the event in a tie for fourth.
As a team, ODU (+23) fired an 8-over 296 on the final day and placed ninth in the 14-team field.
Michael Bakker (+6) and Gustav Fransson (+6) both tied for 30th.
Calvin Greschner (66th, +13) and Chad Hess (76th, +16) rounded out the ODU lineup.
Up next, the Monarchs have a quick turnaround and compete in the Pinehurst Intercollegiate March 9-11.
