NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion University baseball scored six runs in the bottom of the six to pull away from Norfolk State, defeating the Spartans 9-1 Tuesday evening at the Bud Metheny Baseball Complex. The game was called due to darkness after the seventh inning. ODU suffered a power outage during the inning.

Leading in the seventh 3-1, Old Dominion (5-7) started the inning with a leadoff single from D.J. Lardge. After Lardge stole second, Jimbo Reemsnyder reached on an error to put runners on first and third with nobody out. Bryce Windham executed a bunt single to score Lardge. Matt Schwarz laid down a sacrifice bunt and reached on a fielding error to load the bases for Kyle Battle, who delivered a bases clearing double down the left field line. Battle scored after the throw home to get Schwarz went out of play. Brian Morley adden an RBI single to score Erik Stock to complete the five-run inning.

ODU took the lead in the sixth inning on a two-run double by Stock for a 3-1 lead.

Norfolk State scored first on an Aaron Robinson sacrifice fly, while ODU tied the score in the bottom of the first on a Culver Lamb sac fly.

Hunter Gregory earned his first career win, going six innings, allowing seven hits, one run, while striking out seven. Isaiah Nelson earned his first career save.

Erik Stock and Bryce Windham had a pair of hits for the Monarchs.
