WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- Chad Hess holds a one-stroke lead over the field through 36 holes at the Kingsmill Intercollegiate at the Kingsmill Resort River Course in Williamsburg. Old Dominion sits in fifth as a team.
Hess (3) carded a 2-over 72 on Monday and leads Brendan Peel (+1) of Loyola-Maryland by one stroke. Two additional players sit at +2.
The Monarchs (+28) are 12 strokes off the lead after firing a 15-over 295 as a team on Monday. ODU trails first-place Utah Valley (+16) by 12 strokes.
Following Hess, Nick Rencis (+10) and Calvin Greschner (+10) are tied for 43rd. Gustav Fransson (+12) and Antonio Cruz-Conde (+12) are tied for 58th. Fransson had the second-best round by a Monarch on Monday with a 3-over 73 and climbed over 30 spots on the individual leaderboard.
