Meet Georgetown
Gordie Ernst is in the midst of his 11th season as the head coach for both the men’s and women’s tennis programs. He has accumulated a total of 173 wins between the two programs. In 2016, the women’s team had two players earning All-Big East honors for the first time in program history. That year, they went 15-5 and advanced to the Big East Semifinals. Last year the Hoyas finished with a 13-6 overall record.
Meet Middle Tennessee
Charlie Ramsay has been the head coach of MT’s program for three years now. He has a 24-23-1 record in his first two seasons. In his first season, he led the squad to a 14-8-1 record overall while coaching up All-Conference USA First Team player in singles, Brittany Huxley. She was also honored with First Team in doubles alongside partner Giulia Squadrin. Last year the Blue Raiders finished with an overall record of 10-15 and fell in the first round of the C-USA Tournament. However, they have found more success this year as they currently hold a record of 11-4. Of their last nine games, six of them will be played at home.
Looking Ahead for the Monarchs
After these two matches, the Monarchs will continue their long home stretch with three more matches before the Conference USA Tournament begins. Their last match of the season will be against William & Mary on April 13. The C-USA Tournament will begin on April 19 and will be held at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center.
