PINEHURST, N.C. -- The Old Dominion men's golf team sits in a three-way tie for third through the opening 18 holes of the Pinehurst Intercollegiate at Pinehurst Course No. 8.
The Monarchs (+16) trail leader Ball State (+16) by three strokes.
Freshman Gustav Fransson (+1) led ODU in the opening round and is tied for second, just one shot off the lead.
After Fransson, Nick Rencis (+5), Michael Bakker (+5) and Calvin Greschner (+5) are all tied for 23rd.
Chad Hess (64th, +11) rounded out the ODU lineup.
Action resumes tomorrow with another 18 holes.
