NORFOLK, Va. --
Old Dominion takes on its first ranked opponent of the 2018 season on Wednesday, when the Monarchs travel to No. 18 East Carolina in midweek action. First pitch is slated for 4 p.m. ET.

A free audio broadcast will be available for fans on ODUSports.com featuring commentary from Ted Alexander and Tim Wentz.

Old Dominion (3-4) is coming off of its best offensive performance of the season on Sunday in a win against Kansas State, posting season highs with 11 runs and 14 hits, including five home runs. Will Morgan hit three of those homers, becoming just the fifth Monarch in program history to hit three home runs in a game.

Senior third baseman Culver Lamb also had a big weekend at the plate, hitting .643 with five extra-base hits during the three-game set against K-State.

Morgan Maguire will get the nod on the hill for ODU. Maguire earned the win against Richmond last week, allowing one run in a career-high six innings of work.

East Carolina (6-1), ranked 18th in the D1Baseball.com Top 25, will be the first ranked opponent for the Monarchs this season. This will be the 64th all-time meeting between ODU and East Carolina, who used to meet annually as members of both Conference USA and the CAA.

ODU holds a slight lead in the series, 33-30. The last time the two teams met was in 2015, when East Carolina took both games in a home-and-home midweek series.
