NORFOLK, Va. -- Old Dominion lost to Kansas State, 11-5, in the second game of the series on a sunny afternoon at the Bud Metheny Complex on Saturday.
With the win, Kansas State (4-3) takes the series.
The Wildcats, who have now won four straight, resumed its hot hitting from yesterday and led 10-0 through five innings. The Monarchs (2-4) plated three in the sixth and two in the seventh to cut into the lead, but the 10-run deficit proved to be too much for ODU to overcome.
Culver Lamb had a career day at the plate, going 4-for-5 with a double, a triple and two RBIs. Lamb is now hitting .667 for the series. Vinnie Pasquantino went 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI and Bryce Windham also recorded a multi-hit game.
On the mound, true freshman Hunter Gregory took the loss, allowing seven runs in 3.2 innings of work.
The series concludes tomorrow at 12 p.m. Brett Smith will get the start for ODU against righty Justin Heskett.
