MELBOURNE, Fla. -- Through 36 holes at the Moon Golf Invitational at Duran Golf Club, the Old Dominion women's golf team is in third place of the 13-team field.
The Monarchs (+10) opened the day with an even round of 288 and then carded a 10-over 298. ODU is 11 shots off lead and sits ahead of a pair of top-40 teams in No. 26 Louisville and No. 36 Kennesaw State. Ninth-ranked Furman (-1) sits in first.
Individually, Katerina Vlasinova (-2) is tied for sixth and Maggie Simmermacher (+2), who missed ODU's first tournament of the spring due to injury, is tied for 11th.
Abigail Portyrata (+6) and Charlotte De Corte (+7) are also in the top half of the 74-player field. Portyrata is tied for 31st and De Corte is tied for 35th. Rounding out the ODU lineup were Sana Tufail (+8, 42nd) and Noemie Sudron (+13, 61st).
The tournament concludes tomorrow with the final 18 holes.
