NORFOLK, Va. -- The Old Dominion men's golf team opens its spring season this weekend at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate at the Classic Club in Palm Desert, California. The event begins on Friday and concludes on Sunday.

Live scoring of the tournament will be available on GolfStat.

The event features 23 teams and Old Dominion is the only the school from the east coast in the field. Last year, the Monarchs placed 20th at the event.

The Classic Club is a picturesque 7,322-yard, par-72 course in southern California, approximately 120 miles east of Los Angeles. The weather forecast for all three days is sunny and in the upper 70s.

In the fall, ODU had its best finish at the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate at Kilmarlic Golf Club, placing third. Senior Chad Hess led the Monarchs individually, tying for second in that event.
