NORFOLK, Va. – Aziz Kijametovic, a junior on the Old Dominion men’s tennis team, was named the Conference USA Tennis Athlete of the Week, as announced by C-USA officials on Wednesday afternoon.
Aziz Kijametovic had an impressive week, as he went 4-0 on the road last weekend against No. 23 Columbia and Penn. He and Francois Musitelli, ranked 22nd nationally in doubles, claimed a 6-4 win over No. 15 Pham/Tang (Columbia) in No. 1 doubles, and he later beat No. 38 nationally ranked Tang in singles in straight sets (7-5, 6-4). Then against Penn, he took down Josh Pompan in No. 2 singles in straight sets (6-4, 6-4), as well as won in No. 1 doubles, 6-4. Kijametovic helped seal the deal for ODU against Penn in a tight 4-3 match.
Kijametovic is now a perfect 4-0 in singles and 3-0 in doubles.
