NORFOLK, Va. – Jackie Stroud (Raleigh, N.C.) of the Old Dominion women’s soccer team was named to the Conference USA All-Academic Second Team on Thursday, as announced by C-USA officials.

Stroud has compiled a 3.29 GPA as a Mathematics major with a concentration in Teacher Prep and minor in Special Needs Education. She was named to C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll the past two seasons. The Raleigh-native has been a Dean’s List recipient in 2015, 2016 and 2017. Stroud has volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House and with the Special Olympics since 2011.

Earlier this week, Stroud was named the Conference USA Defender of the Year and garnered First Team All-League honors.

In Stroud’s redshirt senior season, she was tied for the team’s leading goal scorer with five and led the squad in game-winners with three. She was second on squad for points (13), as a defender. Stroud has also dished out three assists (fourth on team). She played every minute of all 17 matches she played in this season. The team captain was instrumental in ODU allowing just one goal or less in 13 of 18 games. Stroud was a two-time Defender of the Week in 2017. She helped lead Old Dominion to its best ever season in the C-USA and the program’s best season since 2008. Stroud was an All-Conference USA honoree last year.
