NORFOLK , Va. – Old Dominion women’s soccer senior defender and captain, Jackie Stroud (Raleigh, N.C.) was named the Conference USA Defender of the Week on Monday afternoon.
Stroud has now lead the way for the Monarchs defense for 138 consecutive minutes without allowing a goal. On the road against unbeaten East Carolina (4-0-0 entering match), Stroud, who played the entire match, helped keep the Pirates scoreless for 110 minutes, which marked the first time all season ECU had been shutout. The shutout was the second for Stroud and the ODU defense this season. Stroud leads ODU in goals (3) and points scored (7).

Old Dominion will be back in action on Thursday, Sept. 7 at UNCW for a 7:00 p.m. start.
